Pour yourself a cup of wellbeing...

digestive health

A great cup of tea bursting with the therapeutic power of plants can help alleviate many common health concerns, such as an unhappy gut, a foggy brain, sleepless nights and feelings of stress and anxiety which can plague our everyday life. Hot water extracts compounds such as water-soluble vitamins and antioxidants from the plants and we drink the wellbeing benefits.

Here are a few favourites, each with their own health benefits, which can help us navigate our daily life.

Chamomile
It can help relax the nervous system and help aid effective digestion.

Rosemary
Is said to clear the mind and boost stamina, great as an aid to revising for exams

Mint
This is a real wake-up in your cup. It adds flavour to blends, settles digestion and sharpens the mind.

Lemon Balm
This is a real mood raiser and perfect when moments of calm are needed.

Fennel
A gentle diuretic and good for the gut. The go-to tea after a large meal.

Nettle
Is nourishing and cleansing. A nutritious plant filled with vitamins, minerals and protein.

Ginger
Warms, boost circulation and aids digestion. Soak the root overnight in a thermos flask for maximum benefit the following morning.

Elderflower
An immunity boosting herb which helps the body fight off colds.

You can also make your own tea from fresh herbs
• Put 1 heaped tsp of herbs per mug of water into a cafetiere.
• Pour over hot (just boiling) water, allowing the herbs to circulate.
• Put on the lid but don’t plunge yet.
• Infuse for 5-10 minutes and then press the plunger which acts as a filter.
• Dispose of the used herbs on a compost help.
